Malton School seeks to serve students through responding positively to educational changes whilst remaining true to our traditional values of respect and tolerance established over our 450 year history. We offer a safe, secure and structured community in which young people can grow up confidently.

Malton School, whilst challenging students to fulfil their potential academically, physically and personally, seeks to reflect the predominantly rural community of Central Ryedale that it serves. Respect is at the heart of our behaviour code.

Malton School believes it is important to keep classes small, especially in Years 7, 8 and 9 when students are coming to terms with the change from primary school. In Years 10 and 11 we aim to provide the courses chosen by students and parents - each year the timetable is built round the choices made. Despite being one of the smaller 11-18 comprehensive schools in North Yorkshire we currently offer 22 subjects at Advanced Level.

Malton School is part of The Ryedale Sixth Form Partnership which is a collaboration between the four schools that serve the Ryedale area of North Yorkshire. The schools are Lady Lumley’s School at Pickering, Malton School, Norton College and Ryedale School at Nawton/Beadlam near Helmsley. The partnership capitalises on the excellence of teaching and learning and on the successes at each of the four schools, by offering a broad programme of post 16 courses, so as to satisfy the needs of most students who wish to continue their studies locally. This is done with the support of other partners at The Academy and Derwent Training.

We hope that this Website will give you the information you are seeking about the School.
