Virtual Learning Environment - VLE
Fronter is the new web based learning system that is used at Malton School.
Today - Your personal communication page, pulling together all the information from the rooms you are a member:

Rooms - Fronter is organised into rooms, that you can equip with the tools used by your students:
- Forums - Brainstorm, Conversation, Debate, Discussion, and Questions & Answers - see below
- Frontpage - The graphical user interface opening page for the room
- Hand-in - Folder where students upload finished work - this folder has time limits set by the room's owner

- My Portfolio - Tool that records students marked finished work and tests
- My Work - Folder where students store there ongoing work - this folder can have time limits set or be accessible at all times

- Room - The Room Tool contains the communications tools - Calendar, Messages, News, Notification, etc.

- Adding Members to Your Practice Room - Instructions also apply to other rooms
- Staff Resources - Resources (Documents, etc.) uploaded for the use by the Teacher - NOT visible to Students
- Student Resources - Resources (Documents, etc.) uploaded by the Teachers to be used by Students
- Tests - A number of different types of test can be setup

Forums - Fronter has five different discussion tools - Brainstorm, Conversation, Debate, Discussion, and Questions & Answers:
- Creating a Brainstorm Forum - If you want to have a brainstorm about a topic, this is the tool for you.
- Creating a Conversation Forum - This tool is convenient for simple discussion with few participants.
- Creating a Debate Forum - This tool gives you an overview of all the main points in a discussion with regard to a certain topic.
- Creating a Discussion Forum - This tool is convenient for open discussions with many participants.
- Creating a Question & Answer Forum - This tool allows any user to question, but only selected users are allowed to answer.
