 Top Marks at GCSE
Malton School became one of the top 50 secondary schools out of 3,800 nationally with its success. Head, Rob Williams said: 'The results were outstanding and were acclaimed in the league tables of several leading national newspapers.' 'Eleven students broke records', said deputy head Steve Fearnley. 'Students have met or exceeded some of the very challenging targets we set them. Over a quarter of results are at grade A or A* standard - our A* count is 22 up on our previous best and A and A* grades are up by 40 on our previous best.' ...more >>
In line with the national trend, it was another record year, with Malton School achieving a 98 per cent pass rate. Almost one in three exam entries gained an A grade and 58 per cent were either an A or B grade. Deputy head, Steve Fearnley said: 'These are some excellent results at A-level this year. We keep saying 'best ever' year after year, but I make no apologies for repeating ourselves.
