Enigma Project
On Tuesday 9th March, the Gifted & Talented Students of years 7 and 8, went to Eden Camp.
"We were escorted to Hut 21, to learn about code breaking and the Enigma machine used in WW2. We learnt how codes evolved and how to make and break codes. We had a go at cracking codes ourselves. After lunch we were free to explore Eden Camp, before finishing off with a Treasure Hunt. We all had a great time and cannot wait to visit Eden Camp again."

Malton School Stages Christmas Celebrations
Malton School managed to stage its traditional Christmas celebrations and events despite the bad weather at the end of term.
On the last day before breaking up for the festivities, there was a performance from some of the school’s musicians, and two performances of this year’s sixth form miniature pantomime, Lord Of The Rings.
Earlier in the week, the school staged its annual Christmas Show, featuring choirs,
orchestra, jazz, rock and samba groups as well as a number of solos and duets.
Head teacher Rob Williams said he was impressed at the progress students were making year on year, and singled out James Poole, who played a piano solo. He also accompanied his sister when she played flute, and performed on saxophone in the orchestra and jazz band.
During the week, students also entertained senior members of the local community with music from the Christmas Show, and a performance of Lord Of The Rings. Guests were treated to food and drink prepared by the students, as well as receiving Christmas gifts delivered by Santa.
On Friday 23 October, staff and students were dressed up in every conceivable shade of pink in aid of Breast Cancer Care. The sixth form boys attracted a lot of attention in their pink dresses and wigs. The event was organised by Lisa Marie Platt, a parent of one of our sixth formers. With collections and a raffle of prizes donated by local businesses, the school raised £725.09.
