Art Work by Malton School students inspired by visits to the arboretum at Castle Howard

In 2003 Malton School won a £10,000 award from Barclays New Futures, to run a two-year project connected with trees.

Our intentions are:

• planting trees and shrubs in our own school grounds, and in the grounds of other local schools
  
  
• developing a garden area and a conservation area at Malton School
  
  
• working with Castle Howard Arboretum Trust to develop resources for educational visits to the arboretum
  
  
• art projects inspired by trees and the Arboretum landscape
  
  
• raising awareness of trees and their part in the environment
  
  
• encouraging teamwork with our students
